Okay okay, I've pretty much typed my fingers to the bone with my last opus of a post, but I figured that while I was on a roll, I might as well try to get out a lot of what I've been up to in the past few days. Most of what I've been up to has involved work of some kind.
- I transformed the comb I got from the bead shop into a tiny chainmaille piece with an asian flair
- I started on a chainmaille headdress (which I'm unfortunately VERY close to running out of rings for)
- I got a beautiful anklet finished which I ended up using all but one of the "beledi coins" I got from the bead shop on, named it the Desert Sun anklet, and have already fully photographed it.
- I got started on my beetle wing necklace
- I chainmaille wrapped a bottle, filled it with super glittery pink sand with strands of white glitter, and added a byzantine chain to it.. and it's all photographed and ready to go.
Hurray! We has a patio set! We went to get it last night, and assembled the table last night.. I started on the chairs when I woke up. The only problem is, the chairs have a lot more parts.. I got the first chair put together completely except for the VERY LAST SCREW. The problem was that the hope it screws into was stripped on the side I had to screw it into.. Fortunately after about 15 minutes of fighting with it, I finally got it, and I now have one completely finished chair. Unfortunately, the second chair was borked right out of the gate. I put together the legs the way they're supposed to go and found out that they had not only angled the connector for the seat in a way it is physically not possible for me to make it get to, but they put the little tongs that hold onto the chair on the inside, not the outside.. so we're going to have to exchange it tonight. Undoubtedly this will require me to take apart the set I just spent almost an hour putting together, but for the next five hours damnit, I have a table and chair and can lounge outside. I'll be sure to take a couple pictures. The deck looks so nice right now.
I just planted something! I don't really have much hope that it'll actually grow, but you never know. I had a leftover 18 egg carton from when curio and I decided we were going to make Eccles toast and eggs for breakfast, and stuffed some potting soil in it with some old mammoth dill weed seeds I bought a while ago.. Surprisingly, I'm actually planting it at the right time for once. Right now it's all packed in snugly as per the directions, enjoying the sun, and waiting for them to sprout so I can move them to the not-yet-made huge planter box. I do hope they sprout.. I love fresh dill. or dried dill. pretty much any dill is good. So there are two things really going against them - 1) I planted them, and 2) they were packed for the 2007 crop. However, they ARE weeds, so you never know..
